More than 20 million of us in the UK watch an online video once a week and a company called Axxon Research found that 70% of us view a business more favourably after enjoying an online video about them...
Video helps us trust you and your business.
In this little video, we aim to show you that making a short promo for your business can be technically easy and low cost. Here are three different possibilities:
Slides and a voiceover: 1a Aerials is a Pembrokeshire based digital provider, and here’s a simple but most effective video, owner Dave Cooper has produced for his site. He sounds warm and friendly, with great sound quality – but a low cost lavalier mic in the right environment ( lots of sound absorbtion via duvets, pillows and padding of every description) can suffice. You could use google slides which is free or Powerpoint to make the slides.
Explainer video: These use animation to often describe a problem then a solution and have a dynamism and friendliness that many of us like. You can make these using software like Sparkol or Powtoons or find some local talent, online.
Film: You can use a half-decent smartphone to make a fly on the wall or how to film about your business. Remember to use the camera as a static frame containing action within it, rather than something you can zoom around like a conventional tv camera. You can mix up slides and film like Nigel and Karin of Fyi Brecon have done here:
So making a short promo video for your business can be fun and take you to all sorts of new potential customers. Make sure your opening grabs people, keep it under 3 minutes and remember that what you do and offer is a lot more important than your entire life history… riveting though that may be in another context…
